
This is a rear view of the engine. I am planning on removing the magneto and replacing it with an alternator. I am going to use the LeBurg alternator system in place of the magneto. I will also be using the LeBurg ignition system. I plan on mounting the ignition module on the firewall as I don't think I will have room to mount it behind the engine as you would on a VW engine, this would place it directly behind a cylinder and I think that the heat from the cylinder would cook it rather rapidly. At this time I am undecided as to where to place the magnets for the sensor. They can be mounted on the propellor hub or on the rim of the alternator. I'm leaning toward the rim of the alternator right now as a good place.
