This is a rear 3/4 view of the engine. The motor mounts were an accessory for the engine. I'm glad that the guy that originally bought it got the mounts also as it will make it easier for me to mount it.

This engine is not built from a 1/2 VW case. The case is an aluminum casting with VW internal parts and cylinders. The heads are SCAT heads, I don't believe they are being made any more. I contacted SCAT and they said maybe in 3 months. Great Plains Aircraft Engines informed me that they can no longer can get them. When I said SCAT told me 3 months they told me "good luck". So apparently they are no longer in production. SCAT also quoted a price of $750.00 per set. That's A LOT, to me anyway.

The case can be welded, it doesn't work harden and crack like a magnesium VW case so it should last for a very long time. The only drawback to it is that it's a little bit heavier.
