Welcome back. It sure feels good to get up and stretch
once in awhile doesn't it? Let's continue on with saving our snowman
and then animating his head.
Once you have all of his apparel added and your watermark,
if you use one, decide if you want your snowman solo or if you want
to add a background to him. If you are adding a background then activate
layer1 and add it now. I chose to leave him all by himself, but I have
my snowman saved with all layers in tact in psp in case I want to add
a background at a later date. To do this I made a copy of my snowman
(Shift+D) and saved him as snowman_unmerged. The following are the directions
for leaving him solo.
Step 16:
I wanted to cutout out the excess transparent background, so I picked
up my crop tool
and drew a rectangle around him.
Go to Image-->Crop (Ctrl+R) and it will remove the
excess transparent background.
Step 17:
Go to your layer palette and hide all layers that do not pertain to
the head. Your layer palette should look similar to this:

Make sure you are on your tophat layer and go to Layers-->Merge-->Merge
Visible. Rename this layer head.
Step 18:
Hide your head layer and layer 1 and have all other layers open.
Make sure you are on an open layer below the head layer and go to Layers-->Merge-->Merge
Visible. Rename this layer body. You should have on your layer palette
the head layer on top, the body layer under that and then layer1 under
that. Save.
Step 19:
Make 3 copies of your Snowman by going to Shift+D. On the first copy
leave him as is, go to Layers-->Merge-->Merge Visible. Save this
as Image1 in psp format. Remember where you saved it as we will need
this image for the animation.
Step 20:
On the 2nd copy of your snowman, activate the head layer. Apply the
deformation tool and rotate him a bit to the left and move him over
some. Similar to this:

When you are satisfied with the way his head is, apply
the deformation and then merge these layers and save it as Image2 in
psp.
Step 21:
On your third copy of your snowman activate the deformation tool and
rotate the head to the right and moving it into place where you would
like it. When you are satisfied, apply the deformation and then merge
these layers and save as Image 3 in psp.
Animation
Step 1:
Now that we have everything merged and saved, it is
time to bring it into the Animation Shop. I have screenshots of what
you should do below.
Where the arrow is pointed is where you start the animation Wizard.
This
is the first screen you will see. Check the same size as the first image
frame and press next.
Check
Transparent and then Next.
Check
with Upper left corner of the frame and With the canvas color and go
to next.
I
set my time at 20. Obviously you can set it whatever you want depending
on how fast or how slow you want the animation to go. The lower the
number the faster the animation.
After you click next you will add your animations.
You can add them one at a time if you would like starting with Image
1, then add image again and enter Image 2 etc., but here is a quick
and easy way to get them all at the same time. Click on add image and
find the file where you saved your 3image frames in. Hold down the control
key on your keyboard and select image3, image2, and image1 (if you select
them in reverse, they will show up in the correct order in your animation
window). Click on "Open" and the images will be showing in
the frame box in the correct order as shown in the illustration below.
Click Next.

Now
click finish and it will bring up your images in animation.

To see what your image will look like, click on the
filmstrip as shown in the illustration below.

When I first saved my snowman I was really upset because
there was a lot of black around him. I went to Files-->Optimization
Wizard and applied all of the following settings. Below are screenshots
of each screen and the customize screens so you can see what I have
checked.

The next screen is where you click on Customize and
that's where I changed some settings that helped eliminate the black
edges.

After you are finished with your customizing, click
OK and the following screen will come up and show you the Optimization
Progress.

Click on next and it will give you a preview of the
way your animation will look. If you aren't satisfied then press the
back button and go back to customization and change what you think might
need changing and try it again.

When you click on next it will take you to a screen
and show you how big your animation is and how fast the download will
be for your website and groups.

Oops I know what you're thinking!! You're thinking
"gee, that animation looks pretty big!" What you now need
to do is resize the animation size because if we don't we are going
to be way to big for displaying on your website or in any of your groups
that you may belong to. *S* Click Finish and it will bring you back
to your framed screen. Go to Animation-->resize--> and make it
75% as shown below.

Save your animation and you are all ready to send it
to your groups or put on your website. If you would like to save him
as a sigtag, then when you resize instead of using the % for resizing,
use the pixel size. I made mine 100 pixels high.

I hope you have enjoyed this tutorial as much as I
did creating it.
I want to thank my wonderful tutorial testers, Randie,
Elkay, Beckie, Terri and Suecat, for without them I wouldn't be where
I'm at today.
