Painting with PSP8 couldn't be
easier or more fun! I am going to give you the basics
how to paint this quick and easy wreath. You can
decorate it to your hearts content. I chose fall
colors to make my wreath, however you can use any
colors that you like. I didn't do any additional
decorating to this wreath, however I did tube it
for future use. This is a very good time to make
sure that "Show Brush Outlines" is checked
in your File/Preferences/General Preferences Display
and Caching tab.
1. Open a new image 500x500,
transparent background. Set your foreground and
background materials to a solid color. I used an
orange color for my foreground (fe6e28) and a brownish
for my background (834d4d).
2. Activate your paintbrush and
choose the Spiky Twirl brush tip from your brushes
drop down menu.

I left the settings for the brush
at the default, except for the size which I changed
to 125. You will notice on the Brush Variance Palette
(BVP) that the Color blend jitter is set to 100,
so as we paint with our brush we will be using both
foreground and background colors. I really like
this feature.

3. Paint a fairly large circle
on your canvas. Notice with the additional rotation
in the BVP and the color blend how quickly the wreath
took shape as you were simply drawing a circle.

4. On your Tool Options Palette
change the blend mode to Multiply. Paint a circle
on top of existing one, you will notice how it darkens
your colors, adding a little depth.

5. Change your blend mode to
Luminance and do the same thing.

6. Add a new layer, change your
brush size to 100. Change your blend mode back to
Normal and paint your circle. Change your blend
mode to multiply and paint, change to luminance
and paint. You can continue to do this until you
are happy with YOUR creation. You can also use the
Screen blend mode if you like.
7. I then added a drop shadow.
Go to effects-->3D Effects-->Drop Shadow.
Play with the settings if you like, remember this
is YOUR creation ;-). I used -3 and 10 for the offsets,
51 for opacity and 19.8 for the blur and checked
new layer. I applied my drop shadow twice.
Here is one that I did for the
Christmas Holiday season with a few decorations.
