This is a real quick easy muted background using two new plug-in filters that I have found. One is Filters Unlimited and the other is called Unplugged. I am sorry to say that Filters Unlimited is no longer a free plug-in, the cost is $39.00. **Please note: Not on all plugins exported into Filters Unlimited have the same settings or sliders as the original Plugin. ** Both of these plug-ins have tons of potential and I can just feel some new frames tutorials coming our way. We will once again bring the image into 20/20 or of course you can use another Seamless Tile program of your choice.

This tutorial is written in and for PSP Version 7 and assumes you have a working knowledge of PSP at an intermediate level. I am sure this can easily be done in Version 6 with a few adjustments in paths but I have only used Version 7 so I can't make promises *S*

You will need:

JASC's PSP (30 day free trial)- You can get it HERE
20/20 - You can get it HERE
This is a stand alone program that you just need to run.
Filters Unlimited Plug-in Filter -- You can get it HERE
Unplugged Plug-in Filter -- You can get it HERE
**Unzip both of these into your plugin folder

Okay! Are we ready to make some more pretty backgrounds and not have to worry about layers? Then let's get started!

Step 1:
Open a new image 250 x 250, 16 million colors, transparent background. Set your foreground color to white and flood fill your layer.

Step 2:
Go to Effects-->Plugins--><I.C.Net Software>-->Filters Unlimited and you will see a screen open that has tons of filters for you. Go to Pattern Generators and Fractal Flower 1.
I used the default settings but naturally feel free to experiment.

Step 3:
Go to Effects-->Plugins-->Unplugged Shapes-->Rotocube. I changed the scale to 134 and the transparency to 149, I left the rest of the defaults the same.

Kind of pretty isn't it? That's all there is to it! Now let's bring it into 20/20 and make it seamless and muted like the background on this page.

Step 4:
Those of you who have done my other Sinedot background tutorials this will be a snap. I am still going to go step by step for those who have not done those tutorials as of yet. Open 20/20 and go to File-->Open. Find the image you saved and bring it up.

Step 5:
Open Image and it will bring you to another toolbar where you can select Seamless Tile.

Click on Seamless Tile and it will convert it before you very eyes.

Step 6:
Now we want to make it muted so it's not so hard to view on the eyes. Here is where you click to make it muted.
You can adjust the opacity to your liking. Mine is set at 64% but play around with it and see what you like best. Then press apply.

Step 7:
Now all you have to do is save it and you will be all set to have your own background for your Website or to use as stationery in your email. Go to File-->SaveAs and name your background. Make sure you UNcheck the append to existing file in case you want to keep your original image for another use.

Have fun ~~ Experiment ~~ I did **giggle** Here are some others that I have done using the randomize and Fractal Flower 2 in Filters Unlimited and playing with the sliders for the transparency and scale in Rotocube.

I am looking forward to seeing all of the pretty backgrounds everyone makes.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial as much as I did making it for you. A big thank you to my testers Elkay and Anneli.
